Steve Rhodes is a famous English cricket coach and cricketer for the England national team. He is the current head coach of the Bangladesh National Cricket Team. Steve Rhodes Early Life:
Steve Rhodes was born on June 17, 1964, in Bradford, United Kingdom. He raised in a cricket loving family where his father William Rhodes played for Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club in the 1960s. Being inspired by his father, he builds up a career in the sporting field.
Steve Rhodes Career:
In 1988, Steve Rhodes was selected for the England national team its tour India but the tour canceled due to political reason and he had to wait for a long time to debut. Finally, Rhodes made his debut in 1989 with an ODI match against Australia.
He made test cricket debut on June 2, 1994, against New Zealand. Rhodes was so successful in the first class cricket where he scored twelve centuries.
He started his coaching career with Worcestershire in May 2005 in replacing Tom Moody. The best part of his life, he was appointed as the head coach of Bangladesh National Team on June 7, 2018. He signed a contract with Bangladesh Cricket Board until the end of 2020 ICC World Twenty20. Bangladesh won their ever first tri-nation tournament under the guidance of Rhodes against West Indies and Ireland.
Bangladesh Cricket Board suspended him on July 9, 2019, after the failure of its team in 2019 World Cup in England where Bangladesh won only 3 matches among 9.
