Khaled Mahmud is a popular former Bangladeshi cricketer who is also known by his nickname Sujon. He is a former captain of Bangladesh team for ODI and Test from 2003 to 2004. Sujon is widely notable for his fastest bowling capacity and also known as a fighter in Bangladesh cricket. He was appointed as Technical Director of Bangladesh National Cricket Team in 2018.
Khaled Mahmud Career:
Khaled Mahmud made a ton in the List A cricket scoring 145 against Bhahawalpur. In fact, Sujon emerged as a famous Bangladeshi cricketer when scored 27 and took 3 for 31 of 10 overs against Pakistan in the 1999 World Cup as well as an awarded man of the match award.
The win was a historic victory for the Bangladesh team. He also showed off a wonderful performance in the Third Test against Pakistan at Multan in 2003-04.
In 2006, Mahmud retired from international cricket scoring a respectable 36 runs in fish finishing match. Sujon has been served as an assistant coach and acting head coach for Bangladesh team. Now he is the manager of the Bangladesh team. He was appointed as the head coach (acting) replacing Steve Rhodes for Sri Lanka tour following the 2019 World Cup.
Controversy:
Khaled Mahmud was spotted at a casino in Colombo, Sri Lanka during the Bangladesh tour in 2019. One such video has gone viral on the social media and criticism began widely about then acting head coach of the team.
The accusation against Sujon of going to the casino is not new. Earlier he was caught by a camera in the casino during the tour of Bangladesh in the 2015 World Cup in Australia.
However, these allegations were denied by Sujon, he stated that he went to the casino looking for food.
