Amy McGrath is a well-known American politician and former Marine Fighter Pilot. She is the first female aviator to fly the McDonnell Douglas F/A-18 Hornet on a combat mission. McGrath has been served in the Marine for more than 20 years.

Amy McGrath was born on June 3, 1975, Kenton County, Kentucky, United States. Her father Donald McGrath was a retired school teacher taught at a high school for nearly 40 years where the mother Marianne McGrath, a psychiatrist and first women to graduate from the University of Kentucky’s medical school.
McGrath has an elder brother and sister. She grew up in Edgewood, Kentucky, just outside of Covington. McGrath started schooling at St. Pius X Middle School, a Catholic school in Edgewood, Kentucky. Then she graduated from the all-girls Catholic high school Notre Dame Academy in 1993.
Again she graduated from the United States Naval Academy with a Bachelor of Science in political science in 1997. She studied at Georgetown University in legislative studies. Then she earned a masters degree from Johns Hopkins University in international and global security studies.
Personal Life:
Amy McGrath tied a knot with Erik Henderson, a retired naval Lieutenant Commander. Together the couple has three children and they live in Georgetown, Kentucky.
